Notes on the record
- Rio Blanco County publishes almost nothing about detention. The Sheriff's Office page names Sheriff Anthony Mazzola and Undersheriff Travis Mobley and lists nine service areas, none of them detention, and the county site map contains no jail, detention, inmate, custody or bond page at all.
- The only public trace of detention on the county's own site is the budget: the 2026 adopted budget shows a General Fund 'Sheriff - Detentions' cost centre budgeted at $165,591 for 2026 with $25,000 of budgeted revenue, against Sheriff - Patrol at $2,424,554. That is enough to make the budget check 'yes' but not enough to say what facility is involved, where prisoners are held, or how many.
- Because the county names no facility, the 'named' check is 'no'. This is a finding about publication, not a conclusion that the county holds nobody — the Detentions cost centre indicates detention spending.
