Art. 3 §6 makes partisan election of district judges the default, and a judicial district's voters may adopt (or later reject) nonpartisan merit selection under K.S.A. 20-2901; district magistrate judges are elected county by county under K.S.A. 20-336 unless the district uses merit selection, and in most rural counties the magistrate sets bail at first appearance (K.S.A. 20-302b). Gove County's own departments page links its District Court to 23rdjudicial.org/31/Gove, but that URL was refused by this session's fetch tool as outside the trusted provenance set even though it appeared as a link on an already-fetched county page, so no judge name or confirmation of the district number was obtained this session. Which method this county's judicial district uses was not established for this record.

- RETRY: govecountyks.org (the old domain) is still behind a SiteGuard CAPTCHA and was not attempted, per project rules. But the county's site has actually moved to govecountyks.gov, and the Sheriff's Office runs its own separate domain, govecountykssheriff.org — both opened cleanly this session (found via WebSearch with no domain restriction, since the SiteGuard domain could not be searched directly).
