Notes on the record
- Examined in the built-in browser on 19 September 2026: the sheriff's site (clintoncosheriff.org and its ihub.app posts), the vendor roster link and the county's own site (clintoncomo.org). The research agent had never reached them.
- The roster check is 'no' because the linked vendor portal returned an error and no list of people in custody could be read; the sheriff does link a roster, so this may be a temporary fault.
- Nothing on either site names the jail, gives beds, bond guidance, fees or a budget.
- Plattsburg is recorded as the seat from Wikipedia, which is not a first-party source and is cited as such; no county page confirming it could be opened.
- No Missouri state agency inspects county jails. The only statutory mechanisms are local and lay: a grand jury visit under RSMo 221.300 and a county board of visitors under RSMo 221.320–221.350, whose yearly report RSMo 221.350 requires.
