- FY2025 approved budget itemizes 'Correctional Center' operating expenses of $5,811,732 plus capital outlay and transfers, total $6,183,272; 'Public Safety - Law Enforcement (Sheriff)' operating $37,344,589 plus capital and debt service, total $41,794,817.
- Sarpy operates the jail as a separate county Department of Corrections under a county Board of Corrections (Neb. Rev. Stat. 23-2801 to 23-2806) rather than through the Sheriff's Office — the same structural mechanism used by Douglas, Lancaster and Hall counties, though the state's own jail-data reporting list (per plains_states.json) names only those three as reporting under 'CORRECTIONS'; Sarpy's own site independently confirms the same board-of-corrections structure.
