- MISSING COUNTY WEBSITE: Oklahoma's least-populous county has no county government site; only the Sheriff's Office (cimarroncoso.gov, a .gov domain) is online.
- APPOINTED-SHERIFF HISTORY: Sheriff Michael Berguetski resigned in August 2023 and the county commission appointed then-Undersheriff James Taylor to serve out the term; the current Sheriff, Mark Swinton, was elected and took office January 7, 2025. Three different sheriffs in roughly 18 months.
- Cimarron is the only Oklahoma county bordering four states, and its jail is inspected by OSDH on the same swing as neighbouring Texas and Beaver counties.
